  •  Cheers to another beautiful, if somewhat chilly,.. (19+ / 0-)

    day in New Mexico.

Cheers to the success of a former grad student of mine.  She has certainly blossomed and seems very happy with her job.

Cheers to our grandson and his now doting parents.  They have fallen head over heels in love with him.

Cheers to a great day yesterday, despite my lingering leftover cold symptoms.  A great day of outreach to the local schools.  The only way we get science out these days, with the "TEST" being the be all and end all.  Perhaps we ignited a few young minds.  About 100 volunteers were involved, many of them students from several universities.

Cheers to Say's Phoebe; they still fly ahead of you along fences and thus all is right for now.

Cheers to the University of Florida for their ongoing work on the last Global Warming episode, which has given them some very interesting data.  It seems that with the predicted temperature and CO2 levels by the end of the 21st Century the sea rise would be about ten feet!  Goodbye Miami!

    •  probably goodbye to UF as well! (2+ / 0-)

Seeing as a high point in Florida is a couple hundred feet above sea level. And that might be at the landfill in S. Florida.....

      •  You mean, Mount Trashmore?!? (0+ / 0-)

Gainesville might survive, if only because Devil's Millhopper and all of the other sinkholes would have to fill up with water first.

        •  You might be correct (0+ / 0-)

Forgot about that big hole in the ground.

If we're lucky, it'll clean up Lake Apopka and soak some into Paine's Prairie at the same time....

And yes, Mt. Trashmore. Last I saw, it looked taller than Mt. Dora :)
