  •  Business wants their mega tax cuts (15+ / 0-)

and sweetheart policy deals from both the federal and state governments AND they want the mega Big Government contracts. Both. They also don't want to deal with bad PR or getting caught up being a player in somebody else's.

The Cooch, nor the Teahadi in general, seem to get that. You. Are. The. Flunky. Not. The. Bosses. A true believer in the Teahad, who has no dog whistle game, who doesn't know how to give a ratfuck a pretty face of a title, a person who is going all Culture War all the time in office is something that is going to give them headaches cost them money.

The Cooch would make Rick Scott look like an effective leader of a government body, they know it, and they pine for another Texas George W. Bush who is a corporate stooge but with a "Compassionate" conservative conjob.

    •  Movement Conservatism used to be filled with (18+ / 0-)

      conservatives who got the game.

You are a con man, not a true believer.

      It's a scam, not a crusade.

You rant about abortion, rant, and then, when you get elected, you throw up your hands and claim that you'd like to give the crazies what they want, but, Democrats. Media. Gosh darn them to heck. Grrr. So mad. Grrr. Then you rant about abortion, and how Democrats and the Media won't let you do what you want, so you need more money and support to fight them, then get elected again, and wash, rinse, repeat.

      That's the gig.

You gin up the stupid and the gullible in the service of passing tax cuts to the rich and the powerful.

Culture War red meat is... red meat. It's sizzle. Noise.

You aren't actually supposed to do it. Maybe throw them a regressive bone or two.

You have to keep them pissed off. Angry. Feeling victimized and resentful of 'The Other' while not pissing off the low-information wing of the American electorate so you can win the votes of the stupid, the conned, and the 'my family has always voted for this party' legacies.

The Chooch, and everybody like him, are dangerous if you are some suit in it for the green because they will fuck up everything. Best case. Worst case.

I think Terry McAuliffe will be very good at "triangulating" those guys away from "the Cooch."
