  •  the 20th is Alan Olsen. (0+ / 0-)

Thomsen's is the 26th.  With Frank Morse having retired in the 8th that gives us a really good shot there.  Hillsboro also continued to move left last year and got rid of both their Republican reps, so yes, the 15th is another good option.  And if Jackie Winters retires, too, then the 10th, and if Vicki Berger runs for that district, then her house district is just about even and we'd have a decent shot at it.

Olsen's got redder last year, but I think it's still just a Lean R district, and if it hadn't been redrawn to be like 3-4 points more Republican, he'd definitely be a fluke.  He wasn't an impressive candidate in 2010, he just caught Martha Schrader and everyone by surprise.  I felt bad, çause I was living in Canby at the time, and was working professionally doing some things that helped her and Kurt, but I should've volunteered some time, too.  I would have if I'd known it was so close.

...better the occasional faults of a government that lives in a spirit of charity, than the consistent omissions of a government frozen in the ice of its own indifference. -FDR, 1936
