We were expecting clarification from the whole "The N" thing last summer, and that just faded away like the snows of yesteryear.

It's really troubling when people (and honestly, myself) are feeling too intimidated to ask important questions of what's going on with this situation, because of a fear of getting banned themselves.

I know Markos consistently states that people come and go and it's a big Internet, so he doesn't really care if people get banned because there will always be someone new signing up as proverbial replacements.

I've always hated that attitude because you don't stay the #1 progressive website on the Internet by having major user turnover.  You want Netroots Nation to actually mean something (i.e. - get more and better Democrats elected) other than have it be a big vacation for people here to meet each other and attend a gazillion learning seminars?  Yeah, good luck with that if good people keep getting thrown off this site.

Seems like the good 'ole Melanie and Jim weren't as good as people thought.  Even for those who have met them in person.  Or at a minimum, they didn't know when to give something a rest.

You really don't know anything about people if your only interaction with them is online.  And even if you've met them, there will always be things people will conceal.

Glad the situation has been explained and resolved.

But in any event, I still don't like Markos's "it's a big Internet" attitude, which is now separate from this issue, but still.  We want to affect the most change, and that takes a lot of people power to do so.  Heh.

    •  Well, unfortunately, you're demonstrably wrong. (1+ / 0-)

Because Kos has had his policy of "see ya, dont let the door hit you in the ass on your way out the door" policy for many years, and traffic at this site has never been higher, clicks never better, page views never better.

So yes, you CAN stay the #1 progressive website in the Internet by having major user turnover.

We might not LIKE that fact, but that doesn't change that it is a fact.
