Newsflash: they didn't need your forgiveness. They did nothing wrong. You are the one who sinned.
They must have done something, or God wouldn't have punished them in that way, right? I mean this is the same god who killed hundreds of thousands of people on Dec 26, 2004. The same god who sent the black plague in the 14th century. Then there was the FLOOD remember.

Quite clearly those sinners in Russia deserved to get blasted by that Asteroid last week. We are all sinners.

Yes, we all fuck up.  Confession is about realizing what you did and in some cases the priest can order you to make iit right as part of the penance.

And the Catholic God was not supposed to punish indiscriminately--you're thinking of the way Calvinists think.Your grasp of Catholic theology is pretty non-existent. I was taught that natural disasters just happen. It wasn't the Pope who blamed Katrina on gays (bad as he is); it was Franklin Graham and a couple of protestant televangelists.  The Pope is an idiot and tight-assed and he needs to spend his days in a soup kitchen alongside Mahoney--but the isn't guilty of that sin.

So, no those families did nothing wrong in expressing their anger. Neither did the victims deserve to be abused. Righteous anger is allowable, not a sin.  Thenuns would ahve said it would ahve been better for them to offer forgiveness, more for their own sake than Mahoney's--but they did nothign sinful.

The last time we mixed religion and politics people got burned at the stake.
