    I know it's not statistically significant, that ONLY one state waited more than a hundred years to ratify the constitutional amendment that abolished slavery, in 1995.

    The amendment was ratified by Mississippi, but it wasn't a unanimous vote.

    It might just be a coincidence that Mississippi happens to be in the south.

    And then, your honor, in the mid 90s, the state to the west of Mississippi, Louisiana, nominated a man named David Duke to run for congress. Mr. Duke had been a grand master of the KKK.

    May I respectfully direct your attention to the geography map I've brought to court today? Thank you. If you see right there, Louisiana is in the south.
