    I had the same idea. The average American can't seem to distinguish between fictional roles and what the person is really like. I think it would be a great idea to run an actor, particularly someone who appeared strong and leaderly in the roles he played. He'd be a shoo-in.

    And yes, although I'm a female, I said "he" deliberately. After five years living in the South, I think there's no way in hell a woman would get enough votes from this corner of the country to win the presidency. The men here treat women like they're complete idiots.

    For just one example of what I deal with on a regular basis: After the roof on my investment property was damaged by Hurricane Ivan, I called around to a few roofers to come out and give me estimates. The first one asked me, "Is it okay with your husband that you're calling me for an estimate? Did he say you could do this?" After that, I made it a point to immediately state that I'm a single property owner.

      Seriously?  Holy crap.  The South must be a huge time warp to the 1950s.
