All by way of saying -- by analogy -- that I support the Democratic Party, but I'm sure as hell against some of their positions. I believe the academic boycott is misguided for any number of reasons: primarily because I think academics (whatever their political positions) have and should have a different status in these societies, conversations and actions than, say, feta or candles or stocks and bonds and defense-contractor monies...

... BDS isn't a party or a plank in a platform.  It's a strategy.  And based on looking at the BDS website, I don't see tactical exceptions to any of their strategies (specifically in the areas of eduction or culture).  The mission is to isolate Israel's culture and ideas, and punish her people economically.  Based on what I've read, it is the strategy to damage Israel economically and then destroy it politically.

I haven't been here long enough to be considered a Kossack, does that mean that I'm just a sack?

Palestinians are such a demographic threat. Their wombs are weapons of mass destruction.

It's really OTT and ridiculous. BDS wants to ensure equality for all rather than the systematic abuse and discrimination against one group and privilege of another. And that 'all' includes Jews. You seem to object to Jews having the same rights as Palestinians, particularly the right of return. In supporting rights for one group and not for another, you thus support discrimination and inequality. Which is what we have now.
