  •  There is actually bipartisan support for 18 year (0+ / 0-)

terms for Supreme Court Justices. It will take a Constitutional Amendment. I'd like to see 18 year terms for Senators, Representatives, and Supreme Court Justices, which could all be wrapped up in one Amendment.

the idea of Reich wing nut job Ted Cruz being able to foment his insanity in the Senate for 18 years is just...

      ... UNTHINKABLE!

Help American return to sanity - vote the GOP OUT OF the House Majority and reduce their numbers in the Senate in 2014 elections. America requires Democratic action in order to survive!

18 years total for Senators & Representatives., i.e., 3 6-year terms for Senators and 9 2-year terms for Reps. Remember when the GOP, led by Gingrich, promised to term limit themselves (to 12 years total, I think)? Most of them broke that promise.

        •  OH - well, even 6 years for any RWNJ is too much (1+ / 0-)

But at least if they can be voted out after 6, that's better than nothing...

But not as good as keeping them from getting elected in the first place.

        •  MM - thank you (0+ / 0-)

That's exactly what I meant, but didn't state clearly. A maximum of nine terms in the House, three in the Senate, and one for the SCOTUS, each a maximum of 18 years.
