    "Being and Time". I have a pretty reasonable background in philosophy and found Kant fairly comprehensible, for example. But Heidegger was impenetrable.

    I also in my youth was pretty adept at mathematics and got though three years of calculus. But the real math majors were taking stuff I couldn't follow. Group theory. Algebraic topology. I read a bit of it but it didn't stick.

    That's the stuff that didn't take at all. But I did get through with some difficulty the basics of general relativity for example. Really it is quite mind-boggling and very nice math that happens to describe the real world.
