  •  Classic Who (8+ / 0-)

I'm more of a fan of classic Doctor Who than new Who that is being made now by the BBC, but many of the classic stories were wiped from existence by the BBC in the 1970s before the home video market took off. So, there are many lost stories with only fan-recorded off-the-air audio available. In the past couple weeks, BBC Worldwide has announced that 2 partially wiped stories, The Tenth Planet and The Ice Warriors are going to be released on DVDs with B&W animation to accompany the soundtrack making "complete" stories.

While they're not perfect (I think the heads move too much, for example), the animations are a very welcome addition to my home Who library.

appearance of Hartnell leading to the first regeneration sequence the only surviving footage from the last chapter of that episode

Hartnell would appear in the 10th anniversary show by way of video monitor riding a "Time Chair"
