CSPAN had some programs on this today. To my great shame I'd never heard of (or long ago forgot after learning about it in school) this march, and how it marked a seminal moment in the political march to the 19th Amendment. Also worth noting, as you did, that it came the day before Wilson's inauguration, which will have been 100 years ago tomorrow, since he ultimately made the final push to get it passed by congress and it was ratified in his second term.

We seriously need something similar today. OWS and the various protests of the past 10 years were great, but we need something more structured and sustained to get all the things we need passed. Whatever his position on the big issues of the day, Obama can't get it done by himself. Whether we need to "make him" or help him "make" congress, the public has to step up once again.
