    Nightshade. I hope that those people reading your comment will take the opportunity to examine their workplace for potential hazards, and speak up about improving safety.

    Those who do not understand history are condemned to repeat it... in summer school.

      For someone who lives a very rich inner life, getting a brain injury at 23 is scary and rage-inducing.  All because of someone's carelessness.

      Thanks for your sympathy.  I would like to stress that it could have been much worse.  I have vertigo, light induced migraines, and a very poor short term memory (that used to be excellent).  At this point it looks like I will have these issues for the rest of my life.  I was lucky to walk away with no physical injuries besides my brain injury from having a thirty pound crate drop from a fifteen foot shelf directly on to my head.  Docs were amazed that I had no fractures/muscle damage/spinal damage.  Then again, I hate pop and have always consumed far too much milk, so perhaps I just have stupidly thick bones and a thick skull.  ;]
