  •  Proselytizing from the gravesite (5+ / 0-)

The mother of my best friend passed away many years ago.  Neither she nor her mother were terribly religious people.  However, the mother was nominally a Presbyterian, so somebody brought in a Presbyterian minister for the service.  I, for one, was appalled when this minister took the opportunity to try to convert the mourners.  This was more than two decades ago.

You would have thought a person who went to a seminary, or who was exposed to simple human values would know that it's not appropriate to proselytize at a funeral, but then perhaps I'm misjudging the values of Evangelicals.

I'm sorry for your loss, and I hope you can work out your issues.
