  •  If Yours are Like Mine, They're Old Pre-Boomers, (14+ / 0-)

who have intact pensions their allies have stripped from everyone younger, made their careers on the GI Bill in a Marshall Plan supported economy after the tax & spend world war debt, people who were already set in their Puritanical government program hating world view and mostly married when the Pill allowed women to do whatever they wanted and men to like it.

The cultural divide between Vietnam war era boomers and pre-boomers as few as 5 years older, is greater in a number of important ways than the one between boomers and millennials.

those age cohorts.  Most of them got the benefits of WWII without the heavy lifting and then were old enough to avoid the draft by the time things heated up in VN in 66.  Somehow the draft tended to frame how the Boomers see the world.

Funny thing is these folks ought to be a few years from meeting their maker and it seems they are more concerned about others' morals vs getting their own moral houses in order
