just got back from chinese buffet, was it Clive Barker who took the Cabal short story and made Nightbreed from it?While it was mainly the exploration of a shunned people, the alleghorical reference to the 123th tribe was interesting.  Also, back in the late 80's / early 90's, I had 2 books, the first, a pornographic novel by Piers Anthony (yes, he of Xanth fame) names Pornucopia.  The next was an exploration of alien and supernormal sex through short stories and the like.  I believe it was named Alien Sex and was an anthology of sorts that explored the subject of the diary.

My most memorable part was the exploration of Superman's teenage years and the probably resulting issues caused by his being superpowered (I will let the reader ponder that, but will hint that if he was like most boys in puberty, wouldn't there be a lot of repairing of walls?).

And Cabal was more like a novella than a short story.   The movie Nightbreed was based loosely on it.

I'm not too good at seeing how supernatural stuff alludes to real-life issues, though, so I can't say whether or not it relates to the 123rd tribe, whatever that is.

How I got 123th tribe out of 13th, I am not sure, so I will kinf correct it after my buffet induced coma.  Should have been 13th.  Thanks for the friendly nudge.  And sorry for the massive number of typos, wish I could delete and start over /facepalm
