    Israel, for a variety of legal and facts-on-the-ground reasons.

    Why do you think people relegated to a tiny portion of the available housing should be eager to share what little they've got?

    The fact that Jewish Israelis won't live in their neighborhoods is generally one of the only things that keeps housing prices there down to a level they can afford.

    White people weren't generally massively welcome to move into historically black neighborhoods during the 1950's, either.

    Jaffa, of course, is different.  Ethnic Cleansing didn't completely succeed there, largely because quite a lot of the Jewish community in Jaffa had immigrated long before the Nakba and were willing to protect their neighbors, friends, and business partners of two generations.

    Most of those with power in Israel haven't come to share that view of Palestinians as fully human beings of equal value, sadly.
