    1. Dems did what they could to try to regain some ground in Western KY. With President Obama not on the ballot, the new 1st District may go back to the Democrats. They also have improved their chances in the 4th and 5th Districts. However, Dems could have drawn Rep. John Tilley (D-Hopkinsville) a better district.
    2. There were some big winners such as Rep. Jeff Greer (D-Brandenburg), Terry Mills (D-Lebanon), and Brian Linder (R-Dry Ridge). They all got much better seats.
    3. The Hardin/Bullitt 26th district contains former Rep. Linda Belcher's home. Dems will encourage her to run.
    4. The new seat in Fayette County is HD-88. Rep. Robert Benvenutti (R-Lexington) lives in District 80, which is now even more Republican. The new seat should be competitive.
    5. Another new seat- HD-96 takes in Democratic Powell County with Republican Estill County, along with Republican areas of Madison County. It should lean GOP, but it could be competitive.
    6. Jill York (R-Grayson) is gone under this map. Rep. Rocky Adkins (D-Sandy Hook) will defeat her easily.
    7. While Dems did a solid job here, they did not push as hard as they might have wanted to in Jefferson. However, just because they drew a good map doesn't mean that they are out of the woods in the next eight years for House control.

Did they do well enough in improving Watkins' district in Paducah?  Also, do you think Kelly Whitaker would win the 1st?  I also see a likely pickup in the 50th.

local Dems. The 50th is a good opportunity if Floyd runs for the State Senate. They could have made a couple of minor changes to HD-03, but there are only so many Dem precincts left in McCracken County to spread around. Also, Rep. Rick Rand (D-Bedford) got to shed his Oldham County precincts in favor of Dem leaning Gallatin County.
