    You do realize that if it were to open the floodgates it would be a net plus for Democrats because, well, practically everywhere Republicans were in charge of drawing the lines and they milked it for all it was worth. They couldn't milk it anymore if they tried.

    And the places they weren't in charge (Illinois, Maryland, Massachusetts), they won't be in charge any time soon OR were places which had non-partisan boards of very strict non-partisan rules in place on redistricting severely limiting any future Republican re-redistricting attempts.
