  •  dryer than expected here on Sunday, s'posed (8+ / 0-)

to be mostly clear tomorrow, too.

Sunday is day of rest. so we went to a movie (Wreck-it Ralph), and since I found Chinese take-out at the mall where we went to the movie, we all got junk food for dinner.

oh yeah, we did go to the flea market; amazing to get there before noon (!). my DH found me a hard-copy of a favorite Xmas book (Jules Feiffer's hilarious Edwardian Twelve Days of Christmas), and a stone-building book for himself. we also stopped by an antiques mall that has been set up in a former Hollywood Video store! didn't find anything there, but it's fun to listen to the loudmouth cockatoo cackling away, 8-)

So, yes, the dryer is dead. So DH gets to pull it out and dig in its innards tomorrow. Cross fingers that it's just a sensor he can manually re-set, rather than having to send off for a replacement part! I'm going to have to schlep baskets of wet & damp laundry off to get them really dry, whee. Oh well, at least it's not the washer; laundromat washer prices are ridiculous these days, dryers are much more reasonable. (I hope! it's been several years since I've had to "make do" at the laundromat.)

    •  I'm lucky; my new bride got me to move in (8+ / 0-)

      to her brother's house,
and it has a great four-wire clothesline out back.

I'm about to do laundry right now,
and hang it on the clothesline.

Makes me think of your sig line:
"real" work: hanging three big loads of laundry
      on a clothesline.

I heard somewhere that one of the reasons the big-name conductors tend to considerable age is that they spend a LOT of time waving their arms around at shoulder-height & above. very good for the aerobics & circulation, 8-)

I'd love to have a clothesline, or one of the upside-down-umbrella types, but I have a light industrial operation that messes out particulate something nasty real close, so... I sometimes wonder about our garden soil, but after 20 years here, if we're poisoned, we're poisoned.

Well, that's something we'll consider at the next place... clotheslines AND checking on the "neighbors" a LOT more closely!
