  •  It's integral to the whole economic message (8+ / 0-)

of Obama - building a sustainable economy from the middle class out.  As "Obamacare," no, he didn't emphasize that, but as campaign staff, I can tell you we hit staying on parents' plans until age 26 and no more preexisting condition denials really hard in targeted pitches.

This part, I liked:  "I think they had a better ground game."

His Obamacare comments don't bother me that much because it was an actual concession that Obama's record had something to recommend it, as did his comment about "passion from the other side."  It's fun to snark on Mitt, but the reality is Obama won largely independently of Mitt's gaffes.  Electoral Vote No. 270 was Colorado, which we won by 6 points - not bad.

    Difficult, difficult, lemon difficult.

    •  The Rmoney quote I highlighted shows (0+ / 0-)

that, despite his protestations, he really does think Obama won because of "takers".  He essentially said there that the "free" healthcare is what got Obama elected....and he did it so subtly that few people even notice the disdain.

David Koch is Longshanks, and Occupy is the real Braveheart.

      •  fair enough, (0+ / 0-)

let him disdain away. If you don't share Mitt's worldview that "you're on your own" is a good thing, his contempt is simply irrelevant.  I happen to agree that Obama won because his words and actions promoted the role of government as a force to mitigate the excesses of capitalism.  If Mitt didn't feel differently, he wouldn't have run as he did.  This is at least a policy difference, as distinct from Ann's whining about how the media and the Obama campaign "misrepresented" him.  Vampires hate mirrors, after all; and there was a lot of shit Obama could have done but didn't, like go after his Mormonism.
