    always wanted to go out to Coney Island and see that part of the Atlantic.  Would love to see the fishing and the crabbing and maybe buy some to take home. Heard there is also a Russian district there with lots of food and vodka. Not sure that I could handle vodka mid day but the area is supposed to be fascinating. Thanks for the tip.

      at Steeplechase Pier b/c it's mostly people catching for their own dinners.

      For the Russian influence, get off the train one stop earlier, at Brighton Beach.  (Research this b/c my memory might be wrong, but I'm pretty sure Brighton Beach is where the Russians live.)  Actually, you could go to Coney first and then walk the boardwalk back to Brighton Beach -- I think it extends the whole way.
