to be seen as angry. I imagine he is and his advisors know it, but the country sees him, and seems to like him, as the cool, calm leader who wants to do what is best for the people of this country.

I also think that he does know the kind of crazy with which he is dealing, but also knows there is no effective way with which to deal with them. It doesn't matter what he says or does, they hate it, and do the opposite.

Furthermore, he has to contend with a press that is totally not functioning as it should - giving the nation the facts.

As for the left, they tend to run around with hair on fire if one story is printed about SS reform or Medicare reform. I am not suggesting I agree with all Obama may or may not be thinking about these programs, but I certainly do not have all the facts about what he is thinking to set my hair on fire.

That the left tends to overreact, warranted or not, does not help solve the problems. It only sets up a problem for 2014 where we need every seat we can get.

And as a Baby Boomer, I can tell you that there needs to be reform in Medicare and Social Security. Reform does not mean cuts. There are ways to reform programs to maximize them for those that need them and minimize them for the affluent.

I am just saying that before we get involved in Obama is selling us out wars, we need to wait and see.

Sometimes what looks dark and horrible, turns out to be the right thing to do. And although not his fault, Obama needs to dig us out of the massive hole in which Bush through us. I think we are all going to share the pain, but it is not entirely fair to Obama if he has to change policies in order to set us on the rising path to prosperity.

The Bush years screwed us  - and it will take a long time and a lot of hurt before we recover from that.

Plouffe was leaving the white house.

That guy is a strategic genius -- and I'm sure his talents can be turned to legislative problems.

Without him, Obama's back to the plodding style that almost made him a one-termer.

(Axelrod and Messina leaving probably doesn't help either, though I don't rate Axelrod very highly. Still, the Prez trusts him and he seems to have more of a kill instinct than the Prez and, by now, he's learned a few things.)

"Michael Moore, who was filming a movie about corporate welfare called 'Capitalism: A Love Story,' sought and received incentives."
