    BigAl was talking about overturning a law overwhelmingly approved by voters via ballot initiatives.

    You should stick to your usual "Obama cannot violate a UN Treaty" (despite having violated the UN Convention Against Torture) talking points, because comparing marijuana legalization to segregation laws will not fly around here.

      Overwhelming approval by ballot initiative still leaves the issue to what extent Federal law should/shouldn't trump state law. And yes, in the bad old days of segregation states claimed state's rights on that. More recently we have had Arizona trying to usurp Federal authoirty on immigration and border control. Just about every RW governor/state government is running around claiming one piece of tenth amendment rights or another in oppostiion to the ACA, etc.
