...which voted for Obama something like 65-70%. It is disappointing when people rag the whole state and all the people here for something done by Koch crazed Republicans. It seems especially mean spirited and unhelpful when coming from liberals, Democrats, or progressives on otherwise left-leaning websites.

      I agree.

Arkansas needs some help kicking their Koch-habit.

Instead of picking on them---we should be swinging for them---the people there are saddled with the whacko political right---and---as in every instance---it ain't pretty.

The right-wing enjoys taking hostages---and they do seem to prefer women.

I detest people who degrade and punish other people---just because they can.

      That's bullying plain and simple.

The legislators in Arkansas can call it anything they want---but it's bullying.

And just to make sure every woman there gets the message---they're going to ban it again---and again----and again.

      It's the raised fist approach.

      Anybody not recognize it?

Here in NYC we get ragged on left and right, for all the plagues, the natural disasters, the white collar crime, you name it. Anyone hating on liberals, the arts, the gays, women's lib, the freedoms!, even the gun laws, will find it easy to blame NYC.

Before 9/11 it was even worse.

hate balooza is with respect to gun safety laws.

We are currently the poster child for those who hate "liberal elites" who seek to confiscate the guns of responsible law abiding gun owners.

          But the history is this:
NYC passed the first gun restriction law in the nation, in 1911, The Sullivan Act, and several others since then.

With recent focus on mass shootings and school shootings there many opportunities for people to rag on New York's recent new restrictions.

But here's the fly in their ointment:

          NYC 17,000 schools
          1.1 million students
          635,000 K-8 students

Mass shootings? (in the past 100 years)

NYC's last mass school shooting? 1910 - with an fully automatic pistol.

We have plenty of problems in NYC, but school shootings is a problem we solved a long time ago.
