    The second amendment guarantees the right to arms suitable for public service.  These private armies do worry me also.  I refuse to call them militias as there is no public safety component nor do they report to civil authorizes.  One of the better options would be to forcibly integrate them into state guard forces and subjecting them to military discipline (translation: given that they won't like it, most will leave the group rather than swear allegiance to our Federal Republic or wash out.  The ones that will remain will adjust themselves to the concept of public service).  

    What you are worried about regarding private armies I think worries everyone to the left of Attila the Hun.
