  •  Between jobs, I once held two jobs simultaneously, (9+ / 0-)

one of which was at a respected phone polling company. I called people to ask them to do surveys on their copiers, but could not tell them who the survey was for lest I taint their responses.
Depending on their responses, other paths would open up in the survey. I suspect this is what happened to you, rb608.
Most surveys took only 4 to 10 minutes. But that's 4 to 10 minutes of someone answering my questions to no benefit of their own in the midst of their busy workday. Not surprisingly, more people would complete the survey in, say, Fargo, North Dakota than in New York City.

I did have one person who must have been pissed at her boss or disillusioned about her job. Her survey took 40 minutes and she stuck it out until the end.

I still remember the worst respondent I had in my 6 months on the job. He was a monk in a monastery somewhere down Long Island way. He is among the top 3 rudest people I've ever spoken with in my life, and I make my living on the phone, so that's saying a lot.

I believe in democracy, civil liberties, and the rule of law. That makes me a liberal, and I’m proud of it. - Paul Krugman
