  •  Cowering in fear is one the the Democratic Party's (5+ / 0-)

    central features.

Bold Leadership Cowering in fear helps us be more like republicans.

The path of the righteous man is beset on all sides by the inequities of the selfish and the tyranny of evil men.

I think they are acknowledging for whom they really work.  It ain't us.  That's not surprising but it has to change.

and it reminds me of the saying, "If voting changed anything, it would be illegal." I am of the opinion that elections in many cases are anti-democratic. What is democracy after all? If it is that the will of the majority of the citizens be ascendant, then this is no democracy. Humans, if nothing else, are masters at gaming systems for their own advantage. Elections offer a time-honored path for the ruling class to enact legislation that serves their interests. The leading problem we face is that only wealthy people now -by and large - can win elections. That's true for both Parties.

For if there is a sin against life, it consists perhaps not so much in despairing of life as in hoping for another life and in eluding the implacable grandeur of this life. - Albert Camus

That's how it has always been.

Which of the Founding Fathers was a pauper? They were all the landed gentry of their day. Government has never been run by the common man.
