  •  I'm down to about 4/week, and deck-of-cards (0+ / 0-)

size portions, as instructed... 3-4 oz for chicken, half a pork chop, a 70g/7% hamburger patty, tunafish.

at my age, and living with carnivores as I do, that's probably about as good as we're gonna' get. even the 20yo carnivore is OK with a "home-burger" only every 3d day. Dad is Type2 the last 4-5 years, he and I split a chicken breast, a pork chop, mostly.

we have bacon about a half-dozen times a year, holidays & birthdays. sausage never (no pizza eaters here except me & I only do "Hawaiian" which is Canadian "bacon". maybe 3 times/year). I get myself a very small Black-Forest style ham about twice or 3 times a year.

I guess maybe we're doing fairly well, for still considering ourselves meat-eaters. NOBODY does 2# T-bones or anything remotely like that; and we're pretty much all finding modern Amurc'n portions getting out of hand.

"real" work : a job where you wash your hands BEFORE you use the bathroom...
