  •  I was hoping this diary would get spotlighted. (17+ / 0-)

You set out a clear but realistic vision.  Flipping Texas would be be the greatest victory of this century for the Democratic Party and America.  It would be a big boost also to so many of us with a very weak party who lost our traditional Democratic roots when fundamentalism took over our major religions, melding them with neoliberalism/neoconservatism and the Republican Party.  Thus Dubya and Perry, et al.

And you're right that demographics without accompanying
superior organization and hard work won't guarantee anything.  The Republican corporatist/fundamentalist machine will fight for every vote with a flood of money and every dirty trick it's possible to imagine.

For numerous reasons besides not being there, I can't do hands on work, but if I see emerging strength in candidates, I can donate a bit, and hopefully thousands of other across the country will as well if the National Committees make it one of the priorities.  The latter isn't essential but their support would make a big difference.

More: Some men think the Earth is round, others think it flat; it is a matter capable of question. But if it is flat, will the King's command make it round? And if it is round, will the King's command flatten it?
