  •  and why does the MSM give Walker a pass? (14+ / 0-)

I don't know.  Why aren't these numbers a headline in the major WI papers?  I don't know.  And that weasel rep.....ugh.  I have had phone conversations with this idiot, and he is an arrogant know-it-all who doesn't care about his constituents.  Slappable, indeed....I wanted to reach through the phone airwaves and throttle him.

    •  It's too hard. (12+ / 0-)

It's got numbers and statistics and surveys and that means they have to work. Kudos to the Capital Times, but the majority of the state's media have just decided it's easier to reprint Walker press releases.

      Stick to writing fluff pieces.
Never write about anything that might hint of controversy.
Never write a strongly worded anything.
      Don't fact-check. Just print press releases as-is.

      Don't piss off subscribers.
      Don't piss off advertisers.

In Minnesota, it was a miracle when the press actually didn't endorse Michele Bachmann. It was a shock when they printed an article that pointed out that she said something that some folks disagreed with. Using the 'lie' word was going too far, I guess.

They simply don't print LTE's that don't praise political figures. Unless it's against an evil liberal Democrat. Or it slams Obama. Or it's a conspiracy theory (ok, they don't print these - unless it's from Faux Noise)

The St Paul paper (or was it the other one?) was purchased by the former publisher of Sports Illustrated years ago. This should give you an idea of how little focus they have on actual journalism. The competent journalists left long ago.
