  •  Oh, you mean that one-sentence response, (5+ / 0-)

packed with weasel words, issued a day after the filibuster?

you would have seen that same one word response was made to "Joe MacCarthy Cruz" champion of civil liberties, even before he took to the Senate chamber asking for the response. You have great allies in the battle against the meany Obama.

      •  Nah, I read it all right. (0+ / 0-)

You just can't make heads or tails of who is "responding to" whom.

Cruz pressed on and eventually, the attorney general said--

Attorney General Holder: “translate my appropriate to ‘no.’ I thought I was saying ‘no.’ All right? ‘No.’ ”

          "No"

          •  sadly, it seems that some folks in government and (7+ / 0-)

out only can understand single syllable answers.

holder's answer was intellectual and clear - internal issues are met with law enforcement (and for those who understand our system of government, that is the legal way - but... oh... i forgot...

            FTP!!!!!

            snarl...

sorry - i'm a bit touchy today - the santa cruz officers who were slain are being buried today.  i've no patience with people who cannot see past their own blinders - you are doing an excellent job of responding than i would be.

gonna sign off now - on the edge of patience and i think it wise if i close the computer now...

thanks for this diary, btw - and your comments, too.

              •  this site had some posting really offensive (6+ / 0-)

comments the day they were killed - asking why they weren't in "uniform" (they were in plain clothes going to interview someone accused of misdemeanor sexual battery and were ambushed by him).

after the defense of the nutcase former l.a. officer who killed multiple people - i get a bit tired of the ftp group - no, i get highly offended by the rhetoric - and the same goes for the limited scope of some who scream constantly about drones while totally ignoring the hostage-taking going on in congress.

these same people screech about obama and the democrats while giving the hostage takers a pass (much like the hero-worship of the l.a. former cop).

all i can say is we are living in a warped world - we expect the police to protect us when WE are in danger, the rest of the time, they can be demonized... the same goes for politicians.  people raised hell about bush doing nothing to stop the 9/11 attacks even when warned that something was imminent, yet are condemning holder and obama for not announcing ahead of time that they would not use all tools at their disposal to prevent a similar attack if it were exposed.

we are a nation of schizophrenics (no ill intended to those afflicted by this horrible illness) - we cannot decide on what we want or expect from our government - yet we want to know EVERYTHING that is going on.  we don't trust those who have knowlege greater than our own - we want that knowledge exposed even if it means compromising the outcome of investigations of potential developing harm.

                ugh.

                going to the barn now.

i need the comfort of the wisdom of my horse.

that Rand Paul's name was Cruz.

The fact of the matter, as even Armando has pointed out, that Holder has said different things on different days about what kinds of warfare America may conduct on its own citizens, even within the borders of the United States.

      •  Another made up controversy (5+ / 0-)

and backed by a lot of people from here...As for the lone Democratic nut from Oregon, who gave cover for Paul, he should be punished by Reid.

...the GOP seems perfectly willing to hold their breath until the whole country turns Blue.

And the Obama admin is poised to release a legal framework for the foreign drone program anyways.

      •  Yeah (0+ / 0-)

I'll bet right now that the 'legal framework' is going to say something like "we will abide by rules X, Y, and Z*... * unless the President determines there is a Real Threat (tm), then we get to do whatever we want".

        •  That has always been the case (0+ / 0-)

When a Nidal Hassan type starts shooting at people, you're not going to petition a judge or read him his rights before shooting at him. That has always been the case in every single society on earth. Just because the president now is black, doesn't change any of this. I don't know why this is so terrifying to people. Actually I do know why.....

          •  I'm sorry (0+ / 0-)

I thought for a second there that you were implying that my opinions are due to the President being black and that I might have a different opinion if he was white.

But that would be deeply insulting, so I'm sure that's not what you meant.

For some, that's enough if it comes from Obama's mouth or White House.
