  •  Can you name a House MICHIGAN Democrat? (0+ / 0-)

I bet that you can't, nor can most Michiganders.

So, your selection of  "Congressman" Schumer running as an example is awfully ignorant of the dynamics of both New York as well as Michigan politics.

In case you don't understand; the state of New York is liberal, as is Schumer. The state of Michigan is not.  There is no Democratic congressman in the House from Michigan that has now any where close to the state-wide name recognition that Schumer had in New York, before he ran a state-wide campaign.

As to the subsequent posters who mentioned both Boxer and Brown. Note that akin to Schumer, both have political philosophies that dovetail closely with the majority political philosophies of their representative states, and had substantial name recognition before they ran a state wide campaign.

Again, can any of you name a current Democratic Congressman who hails from Michigan?  Nor can I, and I live here, and worked on Mark Schauer's campaign in 2008-2010.
