  •  If drones ever attacked US citizens on US soil, (2+ / 0-)

You can put me down as "not in favor."

In the meantime, our country faces many serious and varied problems. And last I checked, Rand Paul is a big obstacle in resolving virtually every one.

I'm glad to see him infuriate McCain by "creating" th nasty precedent of actually filibustering a filibuster (instead of simply saying one is doing so as he heads out to lunch with his best lobbyist pals).

But I strongly prefer to concern myself with the actual things that are killing American citizens on American soil right now -- lack of healthcare, guns, homelessness, hunger and malnutrition, PTSD in returning veterans,  the inability to pay utility bills in extreme weather, unsafe infrastructure, low levels of staffing at regulatory governmental agencies so that inspections are years behind where they should be -- and Rand Paul is diamentrically opposed to pretty much every one of these government programs.

Nine people died from the 2009 peanut butter salmonella poisoning case. Over 700 became seriously ill. When inspectors finally got into the plant and looked around carefully, they found rats, mold, cockroaches and rodent feces.

Guess who was busy last year proposing legislation trying to "rein in" the FDA?

So I'm not going to worry about getting a bomb in my latte as I sit at Starbucks. There are too many real problems right now to worry about drone attacks on American soil, getting squished in an elephant stampede at  the zoo, the government stealing my thoughts,  or dolphins rising up from the oceans to dominate the human race.

They'd have to fight the pooties for that gig, anyhow.

So if you get hit by a bus tonight, would you be satisfied with how you spent today, your last day on earth? Live like tomorrow is never guaranteed, because it's not. -- Me.
