  •  "Would You Harbor Me" is magnificent (10+ / 0-)

Among the many other brilliant recommendations you've offered from your own inspired listenings, that piece is both beautiful and brutal, to me.  Never heard it before, admittedly.

Part of the problem is that the airwaves snap, crackle and hip-hop with commercial music offerings designed to get young people to dance, or consume material goods, but are rarely crafted to expose the contradictions of our world in a way that motivates change in a forward direction.
We can sell out our very environment so that the richest men can obtain more wealth in an increasingly downbeat. saddened and desperate world, I feel.

The modern trend in younger demographic music towards mostly superficial dance beats and passive re-enactments of R&B ballad styles seems to be more-or-less in line with a delusionary system that's intended to keep attention "elsewhere."  I've not learned that any friend in our kid's circles has heard music beyond what Disney, dance lessons in the school gym and karaoke seems to offer.

"So, please stay where you are. Don't move and don't panic. Don't take off your shoes! Jobs is on the way."
