  •  what was the other case? (22+ / 0-)
50 State Security is the private contractor whose employee dragged Ms. Anderson out of her seat. In the deposition filed in a case just 6 days before this incident, the contractor revealed that force can only be used in extremely limited circumstances. Obvioulsy, a whole lot of people did not get the memo.
did they do something similar to another passenger?

Here is a link to that victims story. How people forget YouTube is around is beyond me.

I was attacked, choked, suffocated and handcuffed by 50 State security guards for shooting video on the Miami-Dade Metrorail Sunday night, escalating a pending state lawsuit into a possible federal suit.

As you will see in the above video, they tried to push me down the escalator and I shoved back in order to defend myself, which prompted at least three security guards to pounce on me, including one security guard named R. Myers who violently choked me to the point where I thought I was going to die.

I was video recording on my iPhone and my friend was recording on his camera. Both of us ended up handcuffed and detained until City of Miami and Miami-Dade police arrived, both who knew right away who I was.

We were released an hour later with a $100 citation accusing us of “producing loud or excessive noise,” which is a lie.

My friend, who is visiting from California, was taking a picture of the Dade County Courthouse as we were waiting for the southbound train to go back to my place.

I was taking a photo of him, taking a photo of the building for possibly uploading to Facebook. We were joking that it probably looked real gay, me kneeling in front of him as he took a photo.

      •  Self-centered people do not have (11+ / 0-)

situational awareness. So, they tend not to know what is going on around them, other than what directly annoys them. They respond instinctively and then make up explanations later. This creates the impression that they know what they are doing, but they don't.

      •  I was at JFK just after the first (4+ / 0-)

Airbus A380 landed there, and was standing (in my Pilot/Airline uniform with an ID) outside the terminal so I could get a shot of it without a fence in the way.  A little (I'm sure) minimum wage dude who spoke like no English was directing traffic outside the terminal, walked up to me and said "You no take pictures here".  I told him that I was legally allowed to take pictures any fucking place I wanted on public property.  He got really, really upset and tried to grab my camera, and I stepped back from him.  He then ran inside and came out a few minutes later with a Federal Officer who identified himself as an Joint Anti-Terrorism Task Force guy, and asked to see my ID. I gave it to him, explained what I was doing (collecting a stock shot of the A-380 lit up on the ramp at night with an unobstructed view and no jetway visible) and asked if he had a problem with that.

He must have read the Constitution or something, because he had no issues with it. I told him he should educate Mr. Traffic about it.   He shook my hand, thanked me for being cooperative and left.  I wished him a pleasant evening and shot some more pictures...Mr Traffic Dude just looked pissed.
