    If this were an actual police officer who had done this, there would be a process for complaint that almost surely result in desk duty until the case were resolved.

    Meanwhile, the contractor in this case is under zero obligation to assure the public that this transit tough guy won't be on your light rail car overreacting to you and your presence on his beautiful rail car.

    While there certainly are obsticles to getting justice from a police officer offender, there are some protections that are definately superior to those found in a privatized police. Indeed, one has to wonder if some of the savings that using a private firm rather than transit employees for security come from their lack of these sorts of protections.

    In other words, these kinds of incidents are more feature than bug in privatization.

    PrezObama's only mistake in the sequester is that he assumed that the Republicans would be more loyal to their oath of office to serve the people than their oath to Norquist to never close tax loopholes.
