I mean, same-sex marriage and DOMA repeal wasn't part of the tea-party agenda, was it? In fact, when Obama took office, he would not come out in support of same-sex marriage. He was forced to do it, and he did it.

    •  Interesting that he was working hard (0+ / 0-)

to get rid of DADT while being honest about an evolving position on gay marriage.  Equally interesting that DOJ stopped defending DOMA as soon as appeals courts gave them the legal weight to call it unconstitutional.  Also interesting that Biden rarely goes off message these days, and his gaffe was so well timed, almost perfect for highlighting the differences in the parties' stances on GLBT rights going into 2012.

I'm still waiting for equal pay, a chance to climb that male-mostly ladder, and long sentences for rapists.  I'd say I have a right to be fairly steamed, and still don't blame Obama.  First year first term the Dems in congress couldn't make equal pay a priority.  I still voted for Democrats.  It's about the culture, mostly, and women seem to be too damn busy to fight back hard.  We will.

I'm not looking for a love that will lift me up and carry me away. A love that will stroll alongside and make a few amusing comments will suffice.
