    it for themselves was probably a Congressional mistake. As long as the free market was being blamed for inevitable business cycles that cause "natural" contractions, the culprits were hard to identify. But now, a Congress obviously in disarray as a consequence of citizen activism throwing out a bunch of old-timers couldn't resist making a big show of their revenge. The attempt to deflect attention to the banks was feeble and negated by OWS anyway.
    When the agents of government take credit for inflicting damage, some of their ilk are likely to get hurt. Whoever's handy. The bureaucrats' habit of taking credit where it's not deserved also comes back to bite.

    Laying people you don't like because of budget cuts is a well-worn bureaucratic trick.  

    There are so many reasons for claiming poverty, even when it doesn't exist!

    We organize governments to deliver services and prevent abuse.
