I quit Sierra Club 20 years ago.  Too big, too diffuse, too....
just too big.  I consider myself an environmentalist, but I support smaller, more focussed orgs.  SUWA is one of them.  American Rivers and Trout Unlimited are two others.  The Nature Conservancy gets a few bucks, when I can afford it, as does the NRDF.  Times are tight these days, but I give more to these organizations than I do to any Democrat, because these orgs promote my values more than any Democrat.

I don't subscribe to "more and better"...I subscribe to my specific values.  I once gave $40 to Claire McCaskill, and the same to Jon Tester.  Won't get fooled again.

I'll give, when I can, to causes, and not to liars.

stood up for what was right from the individual's POV, not the masses. And you're right, more is not better. I support very few of the larger 'clubs' based on this principle. SUWA is one of the best exceptions to the usual rigamarole when fighting the fight to save and protect the big E. . .without the health and sustainability of the environment, what else is there? Really. Thanks for posting your added comment Keith930.

Treat the world (yourself, and others) as part of a living organism. Everyone and everything will benefit.
