  •  Good Morning, OHC! (7+ / 0-)

That is a lovely painting.  When did you locate your brother?  Has it been recently?  How wonderful for you both.

We're not getting anywhere near the 80 degree mark this week, in fact on Thursday the weather guesser is predicting another cold snap.  Gulp!

    Have a wonderful basking day.

    •  Thx, JaxDem, same to you. It'll be summer (7+ / 0-)

      in a minute.
The brother called me after about 15 years of silence. Don't know the reason he went dark. We were communicating back then but the parents died and he thinks he was just brainwashed by them against his hippie sister. We're comparing notes and find the parents did a lot of harm to all of us -- I have 3 younger brothers. We're healing it now. We both needed some family to talk to.
He has a heart condition and his legs are in excruciating pain. He stands all day teaching so he probably has lumbar trouble. He also has a bulging thoracic disk and I'm trying to get him to go to the main chiro center in Seoul.
We are opposites inasmuch as he flourishes within a structured environment and I have to make my own structure--or not. :-D

      •  It is heartwarming to hear about (4+ / 0-)

you & your brothers re-connecting and healing things.  I hope your brother in South Korea takes your advice on his health issues.  It's tough dealing with chronic pain.

I have a brother 2 years older than me and a brother 12 years younger than me.  They do not speak to one another yet they always look for an update from me on each other.  I don't know that they'll ever heal the rift as their relationship was strained from the beginning.

My parents taught us to be cold, to ignore one another as they ignored us, to not care about one another. So totally WRONG. ::sigh:: We shall overcome bad parenting.
