    The fact that the Democratic establishment in this country is afraid to run progressives in winnable races is the primary reason why the Republicans are still a major political party in this country.

    Polls don't vote, statistics don't vote, history doesn't vote, yard signs don't vote...PEOPLE VOTE!!!

      she wants to and not because of a gutless establishment issue. Some people forget that she wasn't the candidate for SoS that the governor was pushing. There's a bit of bad blood there that makes the "establishment", as it were, likely to be split if she were to enter the race.

      Kentucky politics is a strange animal and Judd's chance of winning probably hinges largely on how badly Kentuckians want Mitch out of office. Do not underestimate the influence of coal on voters here. You can whine about progressives all day long, but being against coal starts you out at a pretty large vote deficit to try to overcome in this state.

      I think both would have a chance to be Mitch. I'd probably rate Allison as having a better chance if only slightly.
