      the circumstances of the son's death.  I've seen some accounts that the government didn't even know that the kid was in Yemen, where he had apparently gone in search of his father.  If that's true, then he really was collateral damage.  Chances are we won't know the real facts until years from now when the records are declassified.

        The kid was something like 8-9 years old when 9/11 happened, which means the AUMF can't be used to justify killing him.

        So, under what legal reasoning was he killed exactly?
