so are Vitamin Cottages (a regional chain with a decent rep; most of their grocery-focused outlets are called "Natural Grocers") and farmers' markets.

And King Soopers (local branding of evil Kroger Corporatoin) and Safeway have some organics, and at least pay union wages to their workers.

So who needs Whole Paycheck again?

    •  Wait, what? (0+ / 0-)

Why is the Kroger corp evil?  We've got them out here.

      •  I should add that if you're large enough (0+ / 0-)

to sell stock, you're probably evil to start with; but I do seem to recall reading somewhere that its political contributions skew red.

Both of which are pretty good and well-priced. And IMO Costco has AMAZING fruit, meat, cheese, and fish, if you can buy in bulk.

Sorry. There is no reason to poison yourself out of spite. Better revenge would be to live well :)

I agree, farmer's markets are an excellent choice, when available.

      •  Don't care for Sprouts; (0+ / 0-)

it's basically King Soopers with a different floor arrangement (and remarkably little in the way of organic produce); owner is the guy who used to own Wild Oats.

Ditto Sunflower, although obviously the ownership is different.

Having a Costco near where I live would be nice, but my household would be too small to make much use of it anyway.
