  •  MI-SEN: Scott Romney wont run for Senate (4+ / 0-)

    according to state GOP source.

Mike Rogers, Terri Lynn Land and Ruth Johnson are the three to watch at this point.

I just didn't think a Romney would want to get back in so soon.

Has she expressed an interest?  I don't remember her being mentioned among the candidates considering a run for the senate.

      •  I dont think she has (0+ / 0-)

but I dont know if she has ruled it out yet either.

Yeah, I haven't heard anyone mention her name...but it'd actually make sense when you consider that her race for re-election coming up is going to be competitive as all types of hell if Jocelyn Benson is going to run again, which seems to be nearly absolutely assured.  I'd even be bullish enough to say that if Jocelyn declares, again, she is favored.

Getting a little off subject, but if the pot-supporters ever got of their asses, we could make Bill Schuette very uncomfortable, too, since he's clearly and utterly on the wrong side of the issue and is even pissing off a lot of Republicans.  But, baring money and a serious challenger, that office is sure  to stick with the GOP.  AG is perhaps the only major office that won't be competitive, next year.

Whitmer could still run for AG.  She's ruled out the gubernatorial and senate races but hasn't said no to AG.  I hope she does run because she would be the strongest candidate.

Maybe she will, but I'm less bullish on her after her now two teases for AG and the governor's office.  Eventually, you cry wolf, enough, and even your friends and allies start to tune you out.  She disappointed me, to say the least.

to be gearing up to run for AG. He is an MSU law professor. He started up a movement called AG4Us and was plugging it at the convention. I think he probably is waiting for Whitmer to decide before taking the jump.

Given our success with other professors, I think he might be worth nominating.
