  •  I think that it is fair to say that Woodrow Wilson (0+ / 0-)

    was confused. I am well aware of how badly it all turned out. I only made the point that the notion of political rights for non-state populations, colonies, and so on to become states was at least discussed before the modern state of Israel came to be. It is commonly supposed that existing states have a right to continued existence under international law, although some would argue with that, or at least insist on regime change.

    The right of Israel to exist as an independent state is a constant theme in the Bible that has little bearing on the present discussion.
