      and given how much the Romans stole from the Greeks, the hypocaust may have a longer history.

      The illustrations in that ondol article remind me of the Scandinavian tile stoves with which you can heat an entire house using one burn a day.

      Cheap and easy oil has allowed us as a society to be so very lazy and lax about how we use resources.
