    Exactly -- my roof is covered in sunshine while I am at work.  (We're hoping to put up panels this summer; we need to replace the roof, first.)    

    •  If you can use it on your roof, put on (0+ / 0-)

      "standing seam metal roofing".  It's the easiest and safest to put PV panels on; the mounts clamp to the seams.  That way you don't need to make potentially leaky holes in your roof.  Plus standing seam metal lasts for about 30 years before it needs to be replaced,  longer than the PV is warrantied for.  Many people don't like the way it looks, but YMMV.  (I rather like it.)  Pictures: https://www.google.com/...= With solar panels: http://www.materialicious.com/...  Let the roofer know that you plan to put PV panels on, as some types of seams work better than others.

      solar roof tiles.  They have the PV built right in.
