who won't--perhaps can't--listen.  You got help. You built a life based on truth telling. Your sister lacks your strength. And she is too weak to hear tje truth because then she'd have to face that truth in herself.

You are strong and beautiful in spirit and filled with grace--not the religious kind, the sort that keeps you going under pressure without faltering.

My husband comes from a family where his father physically  though not sexually abused all 4 children and his wife. WHen she elft him, he shwoed up with guns intending to kill her and himself. My husband took the shotgun away, and threw him across the one car  carport and over the half side of it.  WHile he lay there dazed, he went through the truck and took away all the guns.  Calls to the police didn't help--he was well-respected and well-liked.  But my MiL is  happy woman today despite him. She won. Yes, the children and she bear scars on their hearts, but they are alive and they have done their best to heal (some more successfully than others).

The father?  He remarried, got put on meds for his undiagnosed bi-polar disease, and still cannot understand why his kids have little to do with him.  He is not happy. He never will be--because he cannot accept the truth of what he did and ask forgiveness for it. He will die a miserable old man.  Like your sister, he prefers denial. No one can fix him because he won't allow himself to be fixes.  Like your sister, he finds denial more comfortable than cruel truth.  My MiL and you are the strong ones who have made their own happiness the hard way.

The last time we mixed religion and politics people got burned at the stake.
