  •  I try my best by driving a Volt (2+ / 0-)

However, I drive it like a BEV (battery electric vehicle).   I have not used my engine in 13 months (except for automatic engine maintenance every 6 weeks).

In the last 13 months I have driven 22,000 miles and have used 0.42 gallons total.   All gasoline usage was for engine maintenance.

Now I go out of my way to not use gasoline, sometimes to rather extreme measures.   I've decided I really do not want to use gasoline anymore.   Since I bought my Volt in Dec '11 I have saved over 1,050 gallons compared to my previous car.   By a MPG measure, I am over 5,000 MPG.  Of course MPG is pretty meaningless in a PHEV.
